Short answer: The lab album is where Osmi keeps your blood results. Every marker gets its own card, and every result saved to that card carries its value, its unit, when the blood was drawn, which lab ran it, how it got in, and the interval that report printed. You add a result by photographing the paper, uploading the PDF, or typing a single number. TSH, Free T4, Free T3 and TPO antibodies each hold their own card in your Thyroid set, next to Iron and vitamins and Sex hormones.
What the lab album does
Your results don't arrive all at once. They arrive a few at a time, over years, from whichever lab your clinic happened to use that quarter, in a portal you have to log back into, or on a sheet of paper you put somewhere sensible and then couldn't find. Provider portals are built per provider. They were never designed to hold your whole history in one place, and they don't.
The album is the other thing. One place, every panel, every year, every country you've been tested in.
Getting a result in takes three routes and you pick whichever is in front of you. You photograph the printed report. You upload the PDF your portal gave you. Or you type one number, which is usually the fastest thing to do when you're reading a result off your phone in the parking lot.
Osmi files what comes in against the marker it belongs to. If you've been tested four times, the fourth result stacks onto the same card as the first three, and the card shows you the run. What Osmi will not do is quietly overwrite you. If you typed a value and an import later disagrees with it, your entry stands, because you were the one holding the paper.
Every value is saved with the unit it was reported in, the day the blood was drawn, the name of the lab, how it got into the app, and that report's printed range. Nothing gets filed without that. A number with no source behind it isn't a record, it's a rumor, and it's worthless in a room where somebody's deciding something.
What you see on the screen
The album opens on your Thyroid set. TSH sits at the top with its most recent value, a count of how many draws are saved, and a line showing the run of them in order. Below it are the rest of the set, one card each. Free T4. Free T3. TPO antibodies. The markers you haven't had tested yet are on screen too, and they say so plainly. Not filed. An empty card stays empty, because nothing in Osmi is allowed to look like it has data when it doesn't.
Under the thyroid cards are your other groups, Iron and vitamins and Sex hormones, with the markers you've filed in each.
On the TSH card there's a track with your latest value sitting somewhere along it, and underneath it, the line that governs the whole screen: Shown against the range your lab printed.
That's the whole read: where your number sits inside the interval that report printed, and what's changed since the last draw. Osmi doesn't tell you what a result means about you. It couldn't honestly, and neither can the test on its own. The <a href="https://www.medlineplus.gov/lab-tests/tsh-thyroid-stimulating-hormone-test/">TSH test can't show what is causing a thyroid problem</a>, as the US National Library of Medicine puts it. That's a conversation with the person who ordered it. What Osmi gives you is the thing you walk in holding.

Why the only range Osmi uses is the one your lab printed
Labs run different methods, so they publish different reference ranges. That isn't sloppiness, it's how lab medicine works, and it has a consequence that catches almost everybody out. MedlinePlus says it flatly: to compare your result to a normal range, <a href="https://www.medlineplus.gov/lab-tests/how-to-understand-your-lab-results/">you need to check the reference range listed on your lab report</a>, and you can't compare your results to reference ranges that you might find elsewhere.
So Osmi doesn't have a range. There's no Osmi normal, no optimal window, no number we picked. The interval on your report is the anchor, and it's the only one.
Three things follow from that, and they're worth knowing before you start filing.
When a report printed no interval at all, the card shows your value and says there's no range to show it against. It doesn't borrow one. A borrowed band is just a guess wearing a lab coat.
When two results came from different labs, Osmi keeps them both and keeps them labeled, because you can't compare test results from different labs, and a trend is cleanest when it's built from one lab.
When two results came back in incompatible units, Osmi names the mismatch and leaves that value out of the trend line. It does not convert quietly behind your back. A tidy line that's secretly comparing two different measurements is worse than no line.
And a result sitting inside the printed range is not a verdict on how you feel. MedlinePlus says a result within a reference range isn't always a guarantee of good health, and that you may need additional testing, especially if you have symptoms of a health condition. If you've been told your labs are normal while you still feel awful, you're not arguing with the paper. You're describing something the paper doesn't cover.
What it works without
You don't need a wearable. You don't need a subscription to a testing service. You don't need a full panel, or a tidy history, or every result you've ever had.
One number is enough to start. The album is worth more at month twelve than at month one, which means the only wrong move is waiting until you have a neat pile to enter.
And you don't need labs at all to use Osmi. Your daily record works with zero blood tests, because no lab measures brain fog and no ring measures cold hands.
How it fits the rest of your record
Blood gets drawn a few times a year, and more often for a while after a dose changes, which is what <a href="https://www.niddk.nih.gov/health-information/endocrine-diseases/hypothyroidism">the NIDDK</a> and <a href="https://www.thyroid.org/hypothyroidism/">the American Thyroid Association</a> both tell patients to expect after a change. How you feel moves every single day.
Osmi puts those two speeds on one dated timeline. Your saved draws sit on the same record as your daily check-in, your cycle day, and your sleep. That's the join, and it's the part a portal can't do for you, because a portal only holds one half of it.
When it's time for the appointment, your saved results go onto the appointment sheet with your dated patterns, so the roughly fourteen minutes a year you get are spent on the conversation instead of on reconstructing the last two years from memory.
